On RBC Day to Day Banking, Interac e-Transfers, self-serve transfers, public transit and virtual debit card purchases are counted apart from the included debit transactions. RBC offers Day to Day Banking as part of its low-cost and no-cost account commitment; what that commitment covers is on no-fee chequing accounts.
When does RBC waive the monthly fee?
RBC says there is no minimum balance requirement for its chequing accounts; it lowers the monthly fee through rebates instead, such as the Value Program, which applies when the account is enrolled, its owner holds two or more other eligible RBC product categories and at least one account activity, such as a direct deposit, happens each month. Clients from the age RBC sets may qualify for a Seniors Rebate, which applies automatically; Advantage Banking’s fee is waived for clients up to an age RBC names and for full-time students, and newcomers may be eligible to have it waived for their first year in Canada; Indigenous Peoples and RDSP beneficiaries may be eligible to have Day to Day Banking’s fee waived, with proof shown in person at an RBC branch. Only one monthly fee rebate per account owner applies, and where several could, RBC applies the one with the greatest discount. The amounts are in the Monthly fee column above and in each account’s expander below, which also gives its optional overdraft protection terms.
