CIBC ATM Withdrawal Limit (2026): How to Check and Raise It

CIBC doesn’t publish one daily ATM withdrawal limit for personal debit cards. The limit is set on your account and profile, and you can see it in CIBC Online Banking or the CIBC mobile app in the debit card settings. Asking CIBC for a higher limit

The app shows the current limits, but a change beyond them is made with CIBC directly:

  • By phone. Call 1-800-465-2422 (1-800-465-CIBC) (24/7 (CIBC Telephone Banking)) with your account details and ID. A temporary increase is usually set up during the call.
  • At a branch. Bring government-issued photo ID. A branch can apply an increase right away or schedule one for a later date, such as the day of a planned purchase.

Permanent increases go through an account review and are granted less readily than temporary ones, usually where there is an ongoing need.

CIBC’s ATM network

CIBC had 2,843 ATMs in Canada as of October 31, 2025, according to its Quick Facts page. They are at CIBC branches and at retail sites, including many Loblaw-banner grocery stores; the CIBC ATM locator lists each location. Simplii Financial’s ATM access runs on the same machines, since Simplii is CIBC’s no-fee digital bank.

CIBC’s fees at other ATMs

Withdrawing from a CIBC machine costs a CIBC client nothing. Elsewhere, CIBC’s network fee is $2.00 (Canada, Interac); $3.00 + 2.5% admin fee (US, Plus/Visa networks); $5.00 + 2.5% admin fee (elsewhere internationally); any surcharge the machine’s operator sets comes on top and is shown on screen before you accept it.
