TD publishes one table of standard Interac e-Transfer limits for personal accounts, and it applies whether you send money directly or fulfil someone’s request for money. Each limit runs on a rolling window that counts back from the time of your last transfer, not from midnight. TD also notes that some customers have different limits, shown on the Send Money screen in EasyWeb and the TD app.
TD e-Transfer limits at a glance
| Limit | TD standard personal limit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Per transfer (send) | $3,000 | |
| Per request | $3,000/request | |
| 24-hour rolling | $3,000 (24-hour rolling) | Counts back from each transfer’s date and time |
| 7-day rolling | $10,000 (7-day rolling) | |
| 30-day rolling | $20,000 (30-day rolling period) | |
| Receiving | No limit published | The sender’s own bank caps what they can send |
TD does not publish separate limits by chequing account; the table above is its one standard set. If your own limit differs, the Send Money screen in EasyWeb or the TD app shows it.
TD e-Transfer fees
TD’s e-Transfer sending fee, per its fee schedule: Free on every TD personal plan, including Minimum Chequing. Requesting money is where Minimum Chequing differs: $0.50 for requests up to $100; $1.00 for requests over $100 (Minimum Chequing only – free to request on every other personal plan). Each plan’s monthly fee and transaction allowance is in the TD fees guide.
Asking TD for a higher limit
TD reviews limit increases by phone and in branch. Call TD at 1-866-222-3456 to ask for a temporary increase for a specific payment, or ask at a branch for a permanent change. Business clients arrange higher recurring limits through TD business banking.
Sending more than TD’s limit
When a payment is larger than the rolling caps allow:
- Split it across days, keeping each transfer within $3,000 and the running total inside the 7-day and 30-day caps.
- Send a TD wire. Wires go to another TD account for $16.00 or to another bank for $50.00; the TD wire transfer page covers the process, SWIFT details and TD Global Transfer for sending abroad.
- Get a bank draft at a branch, which costs $9.95 (free with All-Inclusive Banking Plan). The guide to getting a bank draft in Canada explains when a draft is asked for.
Sending and receiving at TD
In EasyWeb and the TD app, e-Transfers sit under Send Money, which is also where TD shows your personal limits before you confirm. Autodeposit is registered in the Interac e-Transfer settings of the same menus. The general steps for sending, receiving and registering for Autodeposit are in the Interac e-Transfer guide.
TD’s caps are listed with every other bank’s in the e-Transfer limits comparison, and TD’s ATM, debit and mobile-deposit limits are in the bank limits hub.
