TD Wire Transfer Limit (2026): Domestic and International

Updated

TD publishes its wire fees but no wire limit. A wire to another TD account costs $16.00, a wire to another bank (in Canada or abroad) costs $50.00, and receiving one costs $17.50. TD’s “Ways to Send Money” page lists its self-serve online options as Interac e-Transfer, TD Global Transfer and TD US to TD CAN Transfer, with no wire among them, so a personal TD wire is arranged in branch, or by phone for TD Cross-Border Banking clients. TD’s SWIFT code is TDOMCATTTOR.

TD wire transfer fees

TransferFee
Outgoing wire to another TD Canada Trust account$16.00
Outgoing wire to a non-TD account (in Canada or abroad)$50.00
Incoming wire$17.50

The fees on TD’s other services, and what each account plan includes, are in the TD fees guide.

Sending a TD wire

At a TD branch a wire is a teller transaction. Have photo ID ready, along with the payee’s full legal name and the receiving bank’s name and address. For a payee in Canada, TD also needs their institution, transit and account numbers; for a payee abroad, their bank’s SWIFT/BIC code and their IBAN if their country uses one. Your receipt shows the fee and, if TD converted currency, the rate it used.

TD does not publish an amount limit for branch wires. The guide to wire transfers in Canada explains how wires work at any bank, and how long a wire transfer takes covers deadlines and arrival.

TD’s online and phone alternatives

TD’s “Ways to Send Money” page lists these options. None is a like-for-like wire: each has its own limit, and one only works between a TD Bank (US) and a TD Canada Trust account.

Receiving an international wire into a TD account

DetailValue
Bank nameToronto-Dominion Bank
SWIFT/BIC codeTDOMCATTTOR
Your transit numberFive digits, shown in EasyWeb
Your account numberAs shown in EasyWeb
Bank addressYour own TD branch’s address (tied to your transit number), as TD advises, not TD’s head office

A missing bank address is a common reason an international wire is delayed or returned. The TD routing number page explains TD’s institution number and how to find your transit number.

Smaller domestic payments and drafts

TD’s e-Transfer caps run on rolling 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day windows, and a payment inside Canada that fits them costs no wire fee; the figures are on the TD e-Transfer limit page. For a deposit on a home or car where the seller wants guaranteed funds, TD’s draft fee is $9.95 (free with All-Inclusive Banking Plan), and how to get a bank draft explains the steps. The bank limits hub has TD’s ATM, debit and deposit limits.
