Online and In-App Support
Live Chat (TD EasyWeb)
Live chat runs through TD EasyWeb Messaging from 8 AM to 10 PM ET, seven days a week. Log in and click the chat icon to reach a live agent; outside those hours, your message waits in a queue for the next available agent. Chat suits:
- Account balance and transaction questions
- Bill payment setup and troubleshooting
- Limit increase requests
- General product questions
- e-Transfer questions (the amounts are on the TD e-Transfer limit page and, for every bank, in e-Transfer limits in Canada)
TD Virtual Assistant
TD’s in-app virtual assistant handles common self-serve requests (checking balances, reviewing recent transactions, finding branch hours and starting simple transactions) without a live agent. It is available 24/7 in the TD app.
In-App Card Controls
Through the TD app you can handle common service tasks without calling:
- Lock or unlock your TD debit card instantly
- Set spending alerts and notifications
- View e-Transfer history
- Find your transit number and a void cheque
- Manage TD credit card settings
If a card is gone rather than misplaced, the steps are in what to do about a lost or stolen debit card.
In-Branch Service and Hours
TD has over 1,000+ branches across Canada. Typical hours: Mon-Fri 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM at many locations; Saturday hours at many branches. Hours vary by location, so check the branch locator on td.com before you go. An in-branch appointment suits:
- Mortgage applications and renewals
- Opening new accounts (especially business accounts)
- Large cash transactions and in-branch wire transfers
- Estate and inheritance matters
- Safety deposit box access
- Financial planning appointments
Branch closures on statutory holidays are covered in bank holiday hours in Canada.
Social Media
TD’s social accounts answer general questions and point you to the right team. Keep account numbers, your SIN and passwords out of any public post or direct message.

TD’s Complaint Process
TD’s published Customer Problem Resolution Process has three internal steps:
- Voice your complaint: call TD at 1-833-259-5980, the line TD publishes for its complaint process (separate from the general 1-866-222-3456 banking line).
- Escalate to TD Client Care: ask the Step 1 representative to escalate, or contact Client Care directly at 1-833-259-5980 or [email protected].
- Senior Customer Complaints Office (SCCO): an office within TD that reviews complaints still unresolved after Steps 1 and 2. Phone 1-888-361-0319, email [email protected].
There is no “TD Ombudsman”: the external body is the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments (OBSI), and the deadlines for going there are explained in how to complain about a bank in Canada.
Tips for Faster TD Service
- Use the TD app first for card locks, balance checks, e-Transfer history and void cheques, which saves a call for routine requests.
- Call outside peak times: early morning (7 to 9 AM ET) or mid-afternoon on weekdays tends to have shorter waits than Monday mornings or month-end.
- Have your access card number ready: TD verifies your identity before discussing account details.
- Evening and Saturday branch hours at many TD locations allow in-person service after a typical workday.
