New Brunswick REALTORS reports MLS® sales for the whole province, and its monthly release splits New Brunswick into four areas: Greater Moncton, Saint John, the Fredericton area, and the Northern and Valley Region. For Greater Moncton it lists sales, new listings, dollar volume and the average sale price; the MLS® Home Price Index benchmark is published only for the province, on the New Brunswick housing market page. These figures are for August 2026, released in September 2026, and the Canadian housing market overview explains how an average differs from a benchmark.
The Moncton census metropolitan area, which includes the cities of Moncton and Dieppe and the town of Riverview, had 196,143 residents on July 1, 2025, against 161,376 on July 1, 2021 (Statistics Canada estimates).
