Note: In salaried positions, vacation is typically paid — you earn the same annual salary whether you work 2,080 hours or 2,000. The adjustment matters for hourly workers on unpaid leave or seasonal workers.
Statutory Holidays
Canada has approximately 9–11 federal statutory holidays per year, plus provincial holidays. Most full-time employees receive these as paid days off — meaning they don’t reduce annual pay. If you’re an hourly worker paid only for hours worked, subtract statutory holidays:
