CPP Payment Dates | Monthly Schedule

This page lists when the Canada Pension Plan is paid this year. The retirement pension, the disability benefit, the survivor’s pension and the children’s benefit are all paid on these dates, and so is Old Age Security. Your first payment

The first payment arrives in the month after the month your pension starts, and the pension then comes on the dates above. You can apply up to 12 months before the start date you choose; how long the first payment takes covers applying and back payments. Pensions rise with inflation each January.

Getting paid by direct deposit

Direct deposit is the quickest way to get CPP. To set it up or change it, call Service Canada at 1-800-277-9914, ask for a call back with an eServiceCanada form, or go to a Service Canada office; My Service Canada Account can’t be used to change CPP information at this time. After changing banks, update the details before the next payment date.

If a payment is late

1. Check that Service Canada has your current direct deposit details, especially after changing banks.
2. Allow for your bank’s posting time.
3. Service Canada asks you to wait 5 to 10 business days after the payment date before contacting it.
