Use the Call-Back Service

When available, the CRA offers an automated call-back option:

  1. Wait for the prompt
  2. Enter your phone number
  3. Hang up and wait
  4. CRA calls you back when an agent is free

This is often faster than holding.

CRA My Account instead of calling

Many tasks don’t need a call at all: CRA My Account shows your returns and Notices of Assessment, slips, registered account room and benefit payments, and lets you update your address and direct deposit. What each part of the account does is covered in the CRA My Account guide, and registering, the Sign-In Partner and CRA user ID options, and getting back in when locked out are on the My Account registration and sign-in guide.
